A Special Appeal from the Fair Housing Justice Center

From Client to Board Member – Fighting for Justice

We at the Fair Housing Justice Center hope this message finds you healthy and safe as we continue our work during the COVID-19 crisis.

Beyond civic-mindedness and a craving for justice, many of our board members and staff are involved with the FHJC because of a personal connection to the issue of housing discrimination. We hope you’ll take a moment to watch this video created by former client and current board member Michelle Sullivan-Brady, sharing the story of her introduction to the FHJC.

In addition to wreaking havoc on our health and our economy, the pandemic is also producing new opportunities for discrimination. Especially troubling are increased reports of landlords sexually harassing tenants who are struggling with rent due to pandemic-caused unemployment.

The FHJC is committed to remaining open during the crisis. Our intake staff continues to process complaints, and the entire team is keeping up the fight for open, inclusive and accessible communities for EVERYONE. But we need your help.

If you’re in a position to make a gift, visit fairhousingjustice.org or text FAIRHOUSING to 44-321. Also, please consider forwarding this message to anyone you feel may be willing to join us in the fight to eliminate housing discrimination.

Stay safe everyone!
