Panelists Announced for FHJC Film Premier Event
FILMMAKERS WILL BE JOINED BY FAIR HOUSING EXPERTS AND OTHERS
On Wednesday September 29th, the Fair Housing Justice Center (FHJC) will debut its newly produced original film, “≤” [Less Than or Equal To] during a livestreamed online event.
The film screening will be followed by a live online panel discussion of the film and the issues it raises. Screenwriter Justin Carter will be joined by actor and disability activist Christine Bruno, and actor and diversity/inclusion activist Dathan B. Williams. Bruno and Williams both appear in the film.
Other confirmed panelists include Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council President and CEO William R. Tisdale and Vice-President Carla Wertheim, along with fair housing attorneys Diane Houk with the law firm Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP, and Mariann Wang with the law firm Cuti Hecker Wang LLP. FHJC Community Engagement Coordinator Craig Waletzko will moderate the discussion.
The September 29th online premiere event will be held at 7:00 PM Eastern via Zoom. The event is free, but registration is required. Click HERE for more information and to register.
≤ is made possible in part by an Education and Outreach Initiative (EOI) grant from Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP) of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The mission of the FHJC, a nonprofit civil rights organization, is to eliminate housing discrimination; promote policies and programs that foster open, accessible, and inclusive communities; and strengthen enforcement of fair housing laws in the New York City region.
