“≤” [Less Than or Equal To] Premier Event This Wednesday at 7:00 PM
FHJC ORIGINAL FILM BRINGS LIFE TO HOUSING DISCRIMINATION ISSUES
There is still time to register for the Wednesday premier screening event for the new film “≤” [Less Than or Equal To], a collection of provocative monologues about housing discrimination, inspired by real life stories. The film is produced by the Fair Housing Justice Center (FHJC).
(Dathan B. Williams as Wilbur; Oscar Cabrera as Ralph; Justin Walker as Darnell)
By bringing to life the varied stories and voices of actual home seekers, investigators, real estate professionals and others, the film uncovers the subtle, hidden nature of contemporary housing discrimination and sheds new light on a pervasive issue that affects us all.
(Peggy J. Scott as Ruth; Wayne Pretlow as Kelvin; Pooya Mohseni as Bailey)
The online premier screening event takes place Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00 PM Eastern via Zoom. The screening will be followed by a livestreamed panel discussion with the filmmakers and fair housing experts. The event is free, but registration is required. ≤ is made possible in part by an Education and Outreach Initiative (EOI) grant from Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP) of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The mission of the FHJC, a nonprofit civil rights organization, is to eliminate housing discrimination; promote policies and programs that foster open, accessible, and inclusive communities; and strengthen enforcement of fair housing laws in the New York City region.
